You know I got to thinking how I came to be so passionate about the environment. Human rights was when I learned about the Darfur genocide, immigration was when I volunteered at the welcome center, social justice was when I served as a Magis leader, fair trade was after I saw the documentary "Behind the Swoosh"... but, the environment? That was definitely the influence of one of my best friends in college!

Yep! That filipino dragged me to my first GREEN COW meeting and ever since then I've been reducing, reusing, and recycling! I even interned at the North American Association for Environmental Education. I've considered pursuing environmental law someday. My first paid job was with Clean Water Action, canvassing neighborhoods in support of cleaner water and newly instigated recycling programs.
...and it's all because of Miguel. :P
